Location: Oslo, Norway

As part of our fast growing team of passionate individuals, you will play a key role of developing our user community, Vivaldi.net as well as our company website vivaldi.com

We believe in empowering users and working very closely with our user community in our journey to build the most customizable web browser on earth.

You will also be responsible for implementing/optimizing/maintaining our main company website Vivaldi.com as well as other web applications planned to be released in the future.

You will be working closely with our designers, infrastructure leads, user community managers, marketing team, user groups to drive the growth of our community. Our work environment is fast-paced and intense but at the same time fun, friendly and informal. Requirements:

  • 3+ years of building high-quality, high traffic web sites with international audience
  • Proficiency building cross browser responsive web sites using HTML, JavaScript and CSS
  • Working knowledge of WordPress, oAuth
  • Experience developing server-side applications
  • Working knowledge of SEO and analytics software such as Piwik is a plus
  • Experience working with React framework and Node is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills and experience in collaborative environments

Japanese Product Test Engineer

Location: Oslo, Norway

Contract: Part-time flexible hours

We are actively seeking a passionate Software testing engineer with strong Japanese language skill to join our growing international team.

Since the launch of Vivaldi 1.0 in April 2016, we are growing rapidly across the globe but Japan is one of our fastest growing markets. Therefore, we are increasing our focus to ensure quality of our product for Japanese speaking population.

Our work environment is fast-moving and intense, but at the same time a fun, friendly and informal. You will own all things Japanese language matters and your daily responsibilities will vary, but you will be expected to:

  • Test Vivaldi browser extensively for Japanese language environment
  • Check relavant social media channels and other forums for reported issues from Japanese users
  • Isolate, reproduce and report all language specific defects and work with developers to ensure timely fixes
  • Work with the QA Manager to develop standards and procedures for measuring product quality and release readiness
  • Actively engage with Japanese users on reported problems to ensure users understand we listen to them and actively fix reported issues

Requirements:

  • Passion for web browser and making users happy
  • QA experience with web and/or mobile applications
  • Demonstrated knowledge of web technologies, web application testing and testing best practices
  • Working knowledge of automated testing frameworks is a plus
  • Familiarity with JIRA or similar bug tracking software
  • Experience writing Test plans, creating test cases, executing manual and automated tests
  • User level familiarity with social media, forums and good communication skills using those channels
