Introducing New Settings – Vivaldi Android Browser snapshot 3206.20

In this snapshot, we’ve added new features, introduced convenient settings, and addressed a few key issues.

Here are some of the changes that have been made:

  • We’ve added a new setting that allows you to disable search engine nicknames. Tailor your browsing experience by choosing the level of detail you want in your search engine suggestions. Go to Settings – Search Engine Settings and choose if you want to enable or disable the search engine shortcut option. It’s enabled by default. (VAB-7758)
  • With the addition of private tab search engine settings, you can now customize your search preferences specifically for private tabs. Head to Settings – Search engine – Private tab and select the default search engine for your private browsing.(VAB-983)
  • Zooming in or out is a common action while browsing, and now we’ve made it even more convenient. With the new option to reset zoom, you can effortlessly return to the default zoom level with just a click. You can find it in Settings – Accessibility – Reset UI Zoom and Reset Page Zoom. (VAB-6910)
  • By popular request now, the address field enters edit mode by default when tapped, as it used to work in Vivaldi 6.2 version. (VAB-8369)
  • The crash that occurred while creating a new folder in notes has been resolved, allowing you to organize your notes without any interruptions.(VAB-8207)
  • We’ve fixed an issue where the bookmark panel didn’t close when a bookmark was selected.(VAB-8316)
  • With this update, we’ve ensured that the “Group with active” option in the context menu no longer persists when tab groups are disabled in settings.(VAB-8311)
  • We’ve also addressed an issue where a gap existed between the keyboard and the Keyboard Accessory View Bar.(VAB-8201)

Differences to Final

The purpose of these snapshots is to allow our users a chance to preview upcoming changes, and to help us ensure the quality of our latest fixes and improvements, before we add them to Final. If you would prefer something that was already widely tested, stick with the main Vivaldi Android package.

When testing a Snapshot, it is a good idea to review the changelog (above). Try out the changes and let us know your thoughts in the comments section or directly in the Play Store. When commenting in the Play Store, remember that it is helpful to mention the version you were testing with.
