Prompts to Set Vivaldi as default – Vivaldi Android Browser snapshot 3093.4

Today’s snapshot addresses various bugs, makes it easier to set Vivaldi as default browser and bumps Chromium to 116.

Here are some of the changes that have been made:

  • In an effort to make Vivaldi more accessible for its users, the development team has implemented a prompt system that suggests setting Vivaldi as the default browser. The users can do that from the onboarding screen, main setting screen, quick menu and push notifications.
  • Addressing a usability issue, Vivaldi has resolved the problem where the Mobile folder was being set as the default save folder for bookmarks. Now, when you save a bookmark, it will be saved to the main bookmarks folder.
  • An essential improvement to the synchronization functionality ensures that users’ name and password fields remain intact even when credentials are invalid. This fix prevents frustration caused by losing entered credentials during synchronization, making the syncing process more reliable.
  • Vivaldi’s developers have paid attention to tablet users, fixing a bug that prevented the Speed Dial page from opening when the last tab was closed. Now, closing the final tab will lead to the Speed Dial, providing a consistent and intuitive experience across all devices.
  • In this update, the search widget logo has been updated to match the Vivaldi build, resulting in a more cohesive and aesthetically pleasing user interface.
  • Another regressions causing crashes on start up and when closing all tabs have been tackled in this update.
  • Vivaldi has fixed a regression that prevented users from sharing links from external applications.

Take a look at the changelog for a full overview of the changes and let us know what you think.
